It would be incredibly valuable if Stages could be recognized by the operating system as an audio output device, similar to how Zoom works.

The use case

Many musicians present, teach, or perform live using a DAW like Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Cubase, FL Studio, etc.

With Zoom, you can simply select Zoom as the audio output from your DAW, and the meeting participants receive a direct, high-fidelity digital audio feed. This eliminates the need to route audio through speakers and microphones and results in a much cleaner listening experience.

Current limitation

Right now, audio shared through Stages isn't clean when sharing System Audio. There are noticeable artifacts, slight fuzziness, and reduced fidelity, which makes it less ideal for music production sessions, live demonstrations, and performances.

Proposed solution

Create a virtual audio device for Stages that can be selected as an audio output within macOS and Windows applications.

For example, in Ableton Live:

Audio Output → Stages

This would allow musicians to send pristine digital audio directly from their DAW into their Stage with no additional routing software or hardware.
